Everything you need to know before you come in. Most people tell us it was easier than they expected.

The waiting room: soft chairs, plants, light wood and a small tea station

Before you come

  1. 1

    Request a time

Online in about two minutes, or call us. We confirm by phone.

  2. 2

    Fill in your forms

We text you a link, so there's no clipboard when you arrive.

  3. 3

    Bring two things

Your insurance card, if you have one, and a photo ID.

  4. 4

    Arrive five minutes early

Enough time for a tea and a look around. Parking is free.

The hour, minute by minute

Here's exactly what happens, and you can pause at any point.

  1. 0min

    Arrive and settle in

Your forms are already done online, so there's no clipboard. Grab a tea and a blanket if you like.

  2. 5min

    A short tour

Your hygienist shows you the room, the chair and the stop signal. Raise your hand and everything pauses.

  3. 10min

    Talk before anything else

What's bothering you, what worries you, what's helped before. We write it down so nobody asks twice.

  4. 20min

    A gentle cleaning

Noise-cancelling headphones are on the tray. We check in with you every few minutes.

  5. 40min

    A careful look

Your dentist checks each tooth and your gums, and shows you anything worth seeing on the screen.

  6. 50min

    Your plan, in writing

What's healthy, what to watch and any treatment with its price. You don't have to decide anything today.

  7. 60min

    That's it

Book your next visit at the desk, or later online. Either is fine.

Insurance and payment

Straight answers to the questions everyone asks. You'll always know the cost before treatment.

Do you take my insurance?

We're in network with most PPO dental plans and accept state children's dental programs. Add your plan when you request a visit and we'll check your coverage before you come in.

Will you bill my insurance for me?

Yes. We send the claim, and you only pay your share at the visit.

How will I know what I'll pay?

Before any treatment you get a written estimate that shows what your plan covers and what you'll owe.

I don't have insurance. Can I still come?

Of course. Every service has its price posted, and the Hushwell Membership covers your preventive care for a monthly fee.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. For treatment over $500 you can spread the cost over 6 to 12 months with no interest.

What should I bring?

Your insurance card, a photo ID and a list of any medicines you take. If you've had X-rays in the last year, we can ask your old dentist for them.

No insurance?

Bringing your kids

First visits are short and playful: a ride in the chair, a tooth count and a prize at the end. You can stay in the room the whole time.
