Everyday care
Checkup and cleaning
Most visits start here. Your hygienist cleans and polishes, your dentist checks every tooth and your gums, and you leave knowing exactly where things stand. If you've been away for years, that's fine. We start where you are.

What happens
- 1
We talk first
Tell us what's bothering you and anything that makes visits hard. We note it on your chart so nobody asks twice.
- 2
A gentle clean
Your hygienist removes buildup with hand tools and a quiet ultrasonic scaler, and checks in with you as they go.
- 3
The dentist's check
We look at each tooth, your gums and your bite, and show you anything worth seeing on the screen.
- 4
Your plan, in writing
A short summary of what's healthy, what to watch and any treatment with its price. No decisions needed today.
Does it hurt?
Cleanings shouldn't hurt. If your gums are sensitive we use a numbing gel and slow down. Raise your hand anytime and we stop.
How we keep you comfortableQuestions people ask
Something else on your mind? Add it to your request and we'll answer when we call.
I haven't been to a dentist in years. Will you lecture me?
No. Lots of our patients come back after a long break. We'll clean, check and make a plan that fits your budget, with no judgment.
Do I need X-rays every visit?
No. We usually take a set once a year, or when something needs a closer look, and we'll always tell you why before we take them.
How long does it take?
About an hour for a first visit, and around 45 minutes after that.
